Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What does remiCrystal do?

remiCrystal is an all-in-one report automation platform that supports Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Excel workbooks (Power Query), Power BI Paginated and DAX queries, and SQL queries, allowing you to schedule, deliver and automate your reports to email, shared drives, FTP, SharePoint, Dropbox and more.

  2. How many machines can I install a single license on?

A single remiCrystal license can be installed and activated on a single computer.  The Enterprise Edition of remiCrystal allows installation on up to two computers.

  3. Are there any limits on how many users can use it once installed?

No — once remiCrystal is installed and activated on the PC, there’s no limit on how many users on that machine can use it.

  4. What’s included after I purchase the license?

The license fee covers free support, upgrades and bug-fixes for 12 months. After that you’ll need to pay an annual renewal fee (typically 25% of the full license cost) to continue receiving updates and support.

  5. What happens if I don’t renew after 12 months?

After the initial 12-month period ends, you’ll get reminders. If the license renewal lapses by more than 90 days, the software will cease functioning until renewal.

  6. What versions of Crystal Reports does remiCrystal support?

It supports Crystal Reports runtime version 11 R2 or later.

  7. Does remiCrystal support Office 365 and Azure authentication?

Yes — you can configure remiCrystal to use Microsoft 365 / Office 365 accounts for email delivery. Setting up the Azure application registration is required for API integration.

  8. Can I schedule and deliver reports to different kinds of destinations?

Absolutely — remiCrystal supports delivering reports via email, network folders, FTP, SharePoint, some cloud storage (Dropbox etc) — all without writing scripts.

  9. What if a scheduled task fails (e.g., due to SMTP, FTP or network issues)?

remiCrystal offers automated retry and fallback mechanisms as well as error alerts. If a task fails, the application will alert the designated administrator and retry the execution

  10. How do I enable detailed logging or trace when troubleshooting Crystal Reports?

You can enable connection tracing and logging by configuring system environment variables (for example LOGGING_DIR, LOGGING_ENABLED_ASSERT, LOGGING_ENABLED_RUNTIME). After enabling, reproduce the issue and locate logs in the directory you specified.

  11. Where are application logs stored?

Application logging must first be enabled in the Advanced tab of the Options screen and the logs will be created in %programdata%\remiWare\remiCrystal\Log Files
